‘Blide Hoose’ opens today
A new service from the Blide Trust, for people with mental health problems in the county, is launched today, Tuesday.
Blide Hoose is run as a “clubhouse” and is open to anyone who wants support to move towards recovery from mental ill-health. The focus is the “work ordered day” where members come along to get involved in the daily work of the Hoose.
Blide Hoose is a move away from traditional support services, where the client is dependent on professional input and support and helps members become more independent through their work contribution, development of skills, education and employability.
The launch event takes place as part of today’s Blide Trust Open Day at 54 Victoria Street, Kirkwall.
