Co-op opens town centre branch

The Co-operative is set to open its new branch in Albert Street today, Thursday, after investing £500,000 in the new food store which has also created 14 new jobs.

Local children are due to help the store manager cut the ribbon to officially open the new store, at 19 Albert Street, this morning.

The new outlet is in addition to The Co-operative’s existing food store in Kirkwall, on Pickaquoy Road, which remains open.
