Community production opens the 2013 St Magnus Festival

The 2013 St Magnus International Festival kicks off this evening with the premiere of Long Strides – a community drama production recreating episodes from the life of Orcadian explorer Dr John Rae.

Written by Pamela Beasant, the play, which will be performed at the Market Stance, just outside Kirkwall, will include film, dance, music and theatre.

The St Magnus Festival, Orkney’s annual midsummer festival of the arts, runs until Friday, June 28.
