County Show launch for OIC policy on affordable home building plots

Orkney Islands Council’s new policy for affordable home building plots will be launched at the County Show on Saturday, August 13.

The OIC’s regeneration team will be available, from 10am to 4pm, to talk to people about the new “serviced sites policy” and take them through other affordable housing options in the county.

Also available will be new leaflets developed by the council for first home buyers on financing and building your own home.

Officers will also be taking comments on the council’s current affordable housing policy, published in 2006 and about to be reviewed, and the council’s local housing strategy.
