Direct dial option for council office callers

The OIC is due to introduce a new direct dial system today, Tuesdsay, for people phoning the council offices.

Anyone calling 873535 will now be able to dial an extension number or speak to a switchboard operator.

“If you know the extension number you need, this will be an option to get straight through to the member of staff you want to talk to,” said OIC customer services manager Catherine Foubister

“If you don’t know the extension number you require, you will be automatically transferred to a switchboard operator who will deal with your call.

“There won’t be a selection of complicated menu options, simply a message giving you the opportunity to get straight through to the member of staff that you require.”
