Elective procedures set to resume at NHS Orkney

NHS Orkney has made the decision to resume all elective procedures.

Due to the ongoing high rates of COVID-19 in the county and the requirement for those who have tested positive to self-isolate, it was announced that such surgeries would be suspended at the start of this week.

As the procedures now resume, the health authority would like to thank the community again for being so understanding at this time. It would also like to thank it’s hard-working staff for pulling together to ensure services can continue.

As NHS Orkney are still experiencing staff shortages, it is monitoring the situation closely.
