Ferry repair bill £1m over budget

The cost of keeping Orkney’s ferry fleet in working order has been £1.1 million over budget, it has emerged.

Despite the increasing cost of maintaining the ageing fleet, Orkney Ferries has managed to increase its income by over £500,000.

This is according to the recently published accounts of the ferry company, looking back on business over the 2024/25 financial year.
