Guilty of driving offences

A 40-year-old woman has had her sentence deferred after being found guilty of driving offences at Kirkwall Sheriff Court yesterday, Wednesday.

Sharon Louise Jefferies, Quilco, Dounby, denied driving without due care and attention and crashing into a wall at the junction of Sunnybank Road and the A965 Kirkwall to Stromness road on November 19, 2011.

The court heard that Jefferies was almost two-and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit at the time of the offence and did not have a driving licence, having previously been disqualified.
