Healthy Living Centres race to Lapland
Orkney Islands Council’s Healthy Living Centres are racing to Lapland in the lead up to Christmas, and you can help get your local centre over the finish line first.
Simply join the Winter Challenge at your local centre – on Hoy, Shapinsay, St Margaret’s Hope, Rousay, Westray, Sanday and Stronsay – and hop onto a range of fitness machines equipped with calorie counters at each centre to turn every 100 calories burnt into one mile closer to Santa.
The Winter Challenge ends when the first Healthy Living Centre passes the 1162 mile mark to Lapland – or on December 23, when the leading HLC will be announced.
Gordon Hill, Area Pools Manager, said: “The Winter Challenge has proved very popular in past years, and is a great way to boost your fitness and keep active over the festive season with its many temptations.
“The Hope Healthy Living Centre took the honours last year and we expect the Challenge be hotly contested this year – so your Healthy Living Centre needs you!”
The Challenge starts on Saturday 26 November.
