High standards in exam results
With exam results out today, early indications show that local pupils have once again done Orkney proud.
Initial analysis shows that the usual high standard of results has been maintained, with a particularly strong showing from the fifth year pupils.
Pupils who had signed up for the SQA’s text or email results service should have received their results between 8am and 9am today, with the rest receiving them in the post throughout the day.
Leslie Manson, Orkney Islands Council’s executive director of education, leisure and housing, said: “We are pleased to note that the high academic standards set in Orkney have been maintained this year.
“Pupils have worked hard at achieving these results throughout the year and I congratulate them and the school staff for their efforts.”
- School staff will be on hand today to discuss results with pupils who have any concerns. The Skills Development Scotland office, in Albert Street, Kirkwall, will also be open for pupils to discuss their further education and career options.
