Hogmanay screening for Stomness Log Pull film

A special screening of a Stromness Log Pull film is to take place as part of Hogmanay celebrations

A special screening of a Log Pull film will mark this Hogmanay in Stromness.

Although the Log Pull was sadly cancelled this year, Stromness folk can still relive the event thanks to a short film put together by The Stromness Community Development Trust.

The film which features the 2019 Junior and Senior competitions, will be played on a screen within the Warehouse buildings and will be viewable outside from the pedestrian area between the end of the Warehouse Buildings and Wishart’s shop.

Starting at 3pm and lasting 15 minutes, the film will run on a loop until 4.45pm.

Please ensure that you are adhering to the government guidelines while attending this event.

An end of the year fireworks display will take place at 5pm from Copland’s Dock.

This event was made possible thanks to funding from EventScotland’s Winter Festival Fund.

There should be even more celebrating for some lucky winners as the Stromness Community Business Forum’s Bonanza is also due to be drawn today.

The film will also be released on the StomnessOrkney Facebook page and the Stromness website — https://stromnessorkney.com/
