Last lap about to begin for pool project

Work on the new swimming pool at the Pickaquoy Centre is entering its final stages, with the  new facilities on course to open in November.

The six-lane pool is now ready to be tiled, with the construction team also looking forward to completing the three squash courts and the changing areas that are contained as well within a major new extension to the centre.

Part of Orkney Islands Council’s £57 million Schools Investment Programme, the project also includes a teaching/training pool, a toddler pool and sauna/steam room.
