Latest milestone for Orkney’s new hospital

Two companies in the running to build the new hospital and healthcare facility in Kirkwall have been invited to submit their final tenders for the project.

Canmore and Robertson were shortlisted as bidders for the facility in November 2014, and have since been involved in “competitive dialogue” with NHS Orkney.

After evaluation of the tenders, the NHS Orkney Board will consider recommendations from the new hospital and healthcare facilities project team, and the board’s technical, legal and financial advisors, on the appointment of a preferred bidder.

An announcement on the successful bidder is expected in June.
