Man involved in Pier Head incident passes away
The family of a Kirkwall man who was pulled from the waters around the town’s pier head last week, have confirmed that he has passed away.
On Sunday evening last week, Karl Foulis was pulled from the water by members of the public. Police confirmed that he was first taken to Kirkwall’s Balfour Hospital and later Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Following the incident, he was described by police as being in a “serious condition.”
After news of the incident broke, there was an outpouring of concern and sympathy on social media. Mr Foulis’s brother, John Foulis, confirmed on Saturday, via Facebook, that Karl had passed away on Friday evening, in Aberdeen.
