NHSO ‘committed’ to improving health and safety

NHS Orkney’s interim chief executive has said he and his team are “committed” to improving training, after and inspection found the health authority had failed to ensure the safety of employees.

The failures were exposed in an audit by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) which took place earlier this month. As a result, NHS Orkney has been asked to comply with regulations covering violence and aggression at work and moving and handling by February 24.
