NorthLink revise sailings due to conditions
Serco NorthLink Ferries has cancelled its sailings today, Thursday, from Aberdeen, and will sail on an altered schedule on Friday to maximise passenger travel opportunity north to Orkney and south from Lerwick.
This evening’s sailing of the Hrossey from Aberdeen to Orkney and Shetland has been cancelled.
The vessel will now sail tomorrow morning, Friday, at 10am to Kirkwall only, returning to Aberdeen as scheduled at 11.45pm. There will be no southbound passenger sailing from Lerwick on Friday at 5pm.
Accommodation is available in Aberdeen on the ferry this evening, with passengers asked to board as normal if they wish to use this service. There will be an alternative opportunity to board from 8.15am tomorrow, with check in closing at 9.15am.
Passengers booked to travel to Lerwick on this evening’s sailing will be able to take advantage of the overnight accommodation in Aberdeen before travelling north on the Friday scheduled service to Lerwick. Friday’s sailing will depart as per timetable at 7pm
The southbound sailing tonight, Thursday, has been delayed and the Hjatland is currently expected to depart at 3am tomorrow morning, arriving in Aberdeen at 3pm. Passengers are asked to board as normal.
This afternoon’s Pentland Firth sailing’s are cancelled today and the 6.30am Stromness to Scrabster 8.45am Scrabster to Stromness on Friday are under review.
Today’s freight sailings have been cancelled although the freight vessels are positioned in both Aberdeen and Lerwick and will resume normal service as soon as weather conditions allow.
