OIC encourages boiler upgrades

Orkney Islands Council is encouraging private householders with inefficient boilers in Orkney to apply for £400 from the Scottish Government towards a new one.

The Scottish Government’s new £2.5 million boiler scrappage scheme could help over 6,000 households in Scotland with the cost replacing their current boiler.

Households with under performing boilers which convert less than 70 per cent of fuel into heat will qualify for cashback on a new energy saving model.
