Orcadian rower’s Peedie Sea boat launch

Orcadian rower Sean Corrigall is due to launch his specially-made rowing boat at the Peedie Sea, in Kirkwall, this morning.

The launch for the boat, named The Viking of the North, is due to take place at 11am, weather permitting. An open event is also being staged at the Sailing Club, Kirkwall, after the launch.

Sean, who rows for Moseley Boat Club in London, is Scotland’s number one rower and has made huge waves in rowing since taking up the sport, and only narrowly missed out on selection for the Great Britain rowing team for the London 2012 Olympics.
