Orkney blacked out by power cut

A mass power cut left Orkney in darkness, this Wednesday evening.

The black out began shortly after 7pm, and power began to resume just before 8pm.

Some areas are still experiencing issues. SSEN has confirmed that it is working to fix the problem, and hopes that power will be restored to all homes by 9pm.

Mobile phone signal was also affected during the outage.
