Council is meeting its priority targets
Orkney Islands Council is performing well against its own priority project targets.
The council’s convener, Councillor Stephen Hagan, said that during the term of this council, they had managed to achieve most of their main priorities.
Only one area out of 33 continues to cause the OIC difficulty — ongoing discussions with the Scottish Government over the ferry replacement programme for the isles.
Having said that, the convener pointed out that the extension to the Shapinsay was complete and plans in the pipeline for lengthening of the Hoy Head.
