Orkney RFC head to borders to take on Dumfries Saints
After last weekend’s 22-22 draw with Berwick, Orkney RFC hope to continue their BT National League Division 3 campaign against third-placed Dumfries Saints on Saturday afternoon.
It is sure to be a tough test for the Orkney contingent, who suffered a number of injuries against Berwick, as Dumfries Saints beat Orkney 8-16 in a hard-fought contest at Pickaquoy earlier in the season. The Borders side have only lost three games — two of them at home — from 14 this season and will be looking to regain second spot, behind runaway league-leaders GHK.
Orkney’s four-try haul against Berwick gained them a try bonus point to go along with the two points they secured for their first draw of the season, moving them above Perthshire and into fifth place in the table on 35 points.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm.
