Orkney RFC set to end home hiatus v RHC

Orkney ground out a 20-18 victory the last time the two sides met at Picky, with Scott Rendall forcing his way over the line.

Orkney RFC are preparing to take on RHC RFC this weekend in the club’s first home game in two months.

Not since the 27-27 draw with Highland on Saturday, December 10, have Orkney’s fans been treated to action at Picky, however the hiatus is set to come to an end this Saturday, when eighth hosts seventh in BT National League Division 3.

Orkney are currently four points behind RHC on 35 points, but have three games in hand over their Edinburgh opponents.

Orkney lost the reverse fixture back in October and coach Paul Livingstone was expecting another tough home encounter as Orkney aim for their fifth home league win of the season.

“You can’t go on that pitch complacent. You can’t expect to win. The guys have got to be on their toes, they’ve got to be on their game again,” said Livingstone.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 12 noon.
