Parish Cup joy for Sandwick

Sandwick won The Orcadian Parish Cup this evening with a composed 3-0 victory over Holm in front of a huge crowd at a sun-drenched Picky.

Gary Dowell put Sandwick ahead 18 minutes into a fairly even first half, before Steven Poke doubled their lead early in a second half that Sandwick largely controlled from the offset.

Dale Slater headed in a Dowell cross to complete the scoring and put the match beyond any doubt with 15 minutes to go.

Holm’s best chance of the game fell to John Dearness in the opening seconds of the match, but his well-struck effort came back off the woodwork.
