Rats responsible for broadband outage

The fault that has left 300 customers in Deerness without broadband has been traced to the Tankerness exchange, where rats have chewed through fibre-optic cables.

On Monday, BT confirmed its engineers were still working on rectifying the problem, and hoped to have the service up and running by around 6pm.

However, it is understood broadband is still unavailable in the parish.
