Have your say on Kirkwall’s future development
A consultation that will help shape the south of Kirkwall — including sites close to the new hospital — gets underway tomorrow, Thursday.
The draft Kirkwall South Development Brief will be published for a four-week consultation period and closes on August 11.
Following the consultation, the document will be revised and reported to elected members for approval.
According to the council, the draft development brief provides guidance on the design and layout of the sites to ensure that any future developments are high quality and sensitive to their surroundings.
The document can be found at www.orkney.gov.uk, OIC Customer Services in Kirkwall, the Warehouse Buildings in Stromness, the Orkney Library in Kirkwall and mobile library vans.
Responses should be submitted by August 11, at 5pm.
