Skills Development Scotland provides widespread support in Orkney
More than 300 people in Orkney were supported by Skills Development Scotland’s careers information, advice and guidance services (CIAG) during the first half of this year.
Nearly 90 people also joined SDS’s national training programmes between April to September. This includes 61 people starting a Modern Apprenticeship (MA) and 26 new starts on SDS’s Get Ready for Work, Training for Work and Lifeskills programmes.
Anthony Standing, SDS’s head of operations for north said: “We are encouraged with the high uptake of our services as this demonstrates that SDS is successfully delivering programmes that are meeting the needs of people in the Orkney Islands.”
