South Walls causeway update

The team carrying out repairs to the Ayre causeway between Hoy and South Walls is hoping to have a temporary road surface in place by around 4pm this afternoon, Saturday.
 
Orkney Islands Council began a major repair effort after the causeway was seriously damaged during the storm earlier this week.
 
If drivers need to use the causeway, they should take extra care and also take into consideration the winds and tides at the time they wish to cross.
