Stromness and Sanday prepare for Parish Cup showdown

The most popular football fixture in Orkney, The Orcadian Parish Cup Final, will take place tonight.

Stromness and Sanday will contest the final which begins at 6.45pm at the Pickaquoy Centre.

Stromness, who have a fourth cup success in the last five years in their sights, head into the match as favourites against a Sanday side who are aiming to win the famed cup for the first time.

Sanday’s one and only final appearance came in 1988 where they were defeated by St Ola.

A big crowd is anticipated to witness the 85th Parish Cup come to a conclusion.
