‘Tae see ourselves as others see us . . .’

Following the highly successful photographic competition, Orkney:24 Hours, which captured events in Orkney over the course of a day in 2011 and 2012, St Magnus International Festival is returning to the project in 2014.

Taking inspiration from a quote from Robert Burns – “Tae see ourselves as others see us” – the festival is inviting people to submit a maximum of three photographs, taken over the long weekend surrounding Burns Night, Friday, January 24, to Monday, January 27.

The project will reflect the Burns’ quote, by encouraging people of all ages to capture images which show a specific viewpoint.  These could be portraits, an event, a view, a landscape or an idea captured from a personal perspective which relates to “home”, or Orkney, or St Magnus International Festival.

The deadline for entries is Monday, February 3, and the prize-winning photographs will be chosen from each category by a panel of judges.

Entries can be sent by email or in printed form to: olivia.ball@stmagnusfestival.com, or to Olivia Ball (Orkney:24 Hours), St Magnus International Festival, 60 Victoria Street, Kirkwall, Orkney, KW15 1DN.
