March 31, 2019It’s Mother’s Day, this Sunday, so why not treat your mum with a nice afternoon tea or evening meal?
If you’re looking for somewhere to go, The Ayre Hotel and The Lynnfield both have Mother’s Day specials on the menu, while the St Ola Hotel, The Kirkwall and The West End will also be a welcome treat for her.
In Deerness, the community hall will be serving Vintage Afternoon Tea from 2pm until 4pm, in aid of Orkney Friends of Palestine.
And remember, kids go free at Lucano, Kirkwall, with your copy of this Thursday’s The Orcadian.
BB Spring Fayre
March 30, 2019 10:00 am - 1:30 pmThe 1st Kirkwall Company of the Boys’ Brigade will be holding a Spring Fayre at the BB Hall in Thoms Street, this Saturday.
There will be coffee and biscuits between 10am and 11.30am, followed by soup and sandwiches between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
The group will also have a selection of homebakes and bric-a-brac on offer, as well as a bottle stall, tombola and much more…

- The latest instalment in the Marvel franchise, Captain Marvel (12A), will be screening throughout the weekend.
- For the little ones, a young boy finds out his true destiny in The Kid Who Would Be King (PG), showing this Saturday and Sunday.
- Treat your mum to a Sing-A-Long Special as the cinema screens Bohemian Rhapsody (12A), this Sunday evening at 6pm.
