Willy Mason to perform in Kirkwall

American singer-songwriter, Willy Mason, is due to perform at The Sound Archive, Kirkwall, Sunday, June 25.

Grooves have announced yet another visiting act for their new venue.

Singer-songwriter, Willy Mason, is set to take the stage of The Sound Archive, Kirkwall, on Sunday, June 25th.

The guitarist, who originally hails from New York, released his debut album — Where Humans Eat — back in 2004. Having made it into the UK Top 40 with melancholic protest song, Oxygen, he has since been lucky enough to support artists such as Beth Orton, KT Tunstall, and Deathcab for Cutie.

Due to open next month, The Sound Archive will be the product of ongoing renovations at the Old Library on Laing Street.

Mason, who now has three albums under his belt, is the fourth visiting act to be announced by Grooves in recent weeks. Scouting For Girls, Newton Faulkner, and Lucy Spraggan are all expected to perform in the newly refurbished building, this October.
