With wildflowers blooming, orcas passing offshore, and the cliffs thronging with raucous seabirds, Orkney’s third annual Nature Festival begins on Wednesday.

The five-day festival highlights the county’s wealth of wildlife and begins on Wednesday, May 13, with an opportunity to join Charles Tait, professional photographer and author of the the Nature Festival programme.

The Nature Festival was set up in 2013 through RSPB Scotland’s Enjoy Wild Orkney project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the European Regional Development Fund and the RSPB. The programme features events from individuals, community groups and businesses around Orkney, which have come together to share and celebrate Orkney’s inspirational natural heritage.
