Award success for Living Orkney

Collecting the award
Collecting their award in Glasgow tonight are, from the left, Carrie Norquoy, John Ross Scott and Karin Brown.

Living Orkney magazine, published by the Orkney Media Group, has been taken top spot in the Small Publishing Company category of the 2014 Scottish Magazine Awards.

The award winners were announced at a gala dinner and award ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow, this evening.

The magazine’s latest accolade comes on the back of it being highly commended in the 2010, 2011 and 2013 Scottish Magazine Awards. In 2011, its editor John Ross Scott was shortlisted in the Editor of the Year category and won the Chairman’s Prize.

Over the past year, Living Orkney has been put together by a team of three  – John Ross Scott as freelance editor, designer Carrie Norquoy and advertising representative, Karin Brown, with Lorraine Shearer co-editing the September and October issues.

From January 2015, Lorraine will co-edit the magazine on alternate months from John.
