Bus feedback events to return

Last year’s Bus Matters Scotland events generated a lot of feedback from the Orkney community.

Following the success of the event held in February 2018, Bus Users Scotland will return to Orkney this month to run another “Your Bus Matters” event to hear feedback on the bus services on the island. The events are open to everyone and will be held in Kirkwall and Stromness.

The events give everyone the opportunity to provide feedback on what is working and what doesn’t about the local bus service. Representatives from Stagecoach will also be present to hear feedback on the services provided on the island.

Greig Mackay, deputy director for Bus Users Scotland said: “We are looking forward to returning to Orkney to hear the views of the bus passengers. We were really pleased with the engagement at our event last year and look forward to hearing from more of the locals on the bus services on the island.”

The two meetings will take place, later this month. Firstly, at Kirkwall Travel Centre on Monday, February 25, 3pm-5pm, and then in Stromness on Tuesday, February 26, 10am-12.30pm.

David Liston, managing director for Stagecoach North Scotland added: “We always welcome feedback on the services we provide and there is no better way to gather this than to host an event in partnership with Bus Users Scotland.

“The feedback we received last year really helped us to develop improvements across the island demonstrated by the enhancements we made to services throughout the summer in 2018. We are keen to hear what worked and what didn’t last year to help us shape our plans for 2019.”

If you can’t make the events you can still provide feedback to yourbusmatters@bususers.org.
