Norwegians and Orcadians celebrating the annual Constitution Day during the 2013 Tog.

Today, Tuesday, will see Orkney join in the annual celebrations to mark Norwegian Constitution Day.

A remembrance service at the Norwegian war graves in St Olaf Cemetery will be followed by a concert in St Magnus Cathedral, by third-year pupils from Kirkwall Grammar School, at 1pm.

The annual ‘Tog’ parade will set off from the Kirkwall pierhead at noon, led by members of the Kirkwall City Pipe Band, making its way through Bridge Street and Albert Street to the Kirk Green.

Outside the cathedral, speeches will be delivered by Orkney Islands Council convener Steven Heddle and the Norwegian guest of honour, Bjørn Kahrs. Entertainment will then be provided by pupils from St Andrews Primary School and the Kirkwall City Pipe Band.
