Clean bill of health for Evie School
Education inspectors have given Evie Primary School a clean bill of health, following an inspection earlier this year.
The newly published Education Scotland report highlights a number of strengths, including:
- The headteacher is responsive and sensitive to the needs of children and is supported by a hard-working and positive staff team.
- The children are happy, friendly, polite and well behaved, and benefit from learning in a caring, nurturing environment.
- Children in the nursery are motived, engaged and thriving.
The inspectors evaluated three aspects of the nursery sections as good and another as very good.
Three aspects of the primary section were evaluated as satisfactory and another as good.
Areas for improvement were identified and discussed with the headteacher and Orkney Islands Council’s education service.
“We are confident that the school has the capacity to continue to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection,” the report added.
