Competition success for local young farmers

Seven members of Orkney’s young farmers clubs saw success in a northern area lamb and beef dressing competition on Saturday.

Four teams from Orkney, each including two club members, entered the Young Farmers competition, which was held at Sibmister Farm, Caithness, with three of the four teams placing.

Frazer Leslie & Scott Drever took the top prize in the cattle dressing section, Charles Copland & James Stevenson came second in the Lamb dressing section and Garry Hamilton, Cameron Drever & Gareth Scott came third in the agricultural skills section.

The three teams will now go on to represent Orkney in the national competition, held at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, in November.
