Date set for Sanday Post Office relocation
A date has been set for the relocation of Sanday’s Lady Post Office. Next Wednesday, January 17, the service will be relaunched at Sanday Community Shop, just across the road from the old Post office site.
This new service will be provided at a Post Office serving point in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till. According to a statement from the Post Office, the relocation will allow the branch to increase service to over 61 hours a week, with the aim of making it more convenient for customers.
“We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents,” explained Kenny Lamont, Post Office network operations area manager.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
The previous Lady Post Office closed on Wednesday, December 20. During this short period of closure before the new branch is operational Post Office services can still be accessed from the Sanday Post Office in Kettletoft.
