Disappointing Orkney RFC defeated

A disappointing performance resulted in a disappointing result for Orkney RFC this afternoon, as St Boswells ran out 13-19 winners at Picky this afternoon.
The home side were always behind in a scrappy 80 minutes, with Darren McLean getting Orkney’s only try of the day five minutes from time to put the inexperienced and depleted hosts within one point at 13-14. The visitors would end the contest at the death however, scoring a second unconverted try.
The rest of Orkney’s points came from the boot of Jon Tait, scoring two penalties and a conversion. St Boswells had opened the scoring with an unconverted try.
Orkney’s next match is a home match against Highland next Saturday.
