St Margaret’s Hope South development brief consultation

Orkney Islands Council’s Draft St Margaret’s Hope – South Development Brief will be published for an eight week consultation between July 8 and September 2.

The draft brief covers the land to the north of the new St Margaret’s Road, which comprises sites SMH-C and SMH-D of the Orkney Local Development Plan (Proposed Plan April 2011).

Chairman of the council’s planning and protective services committee, Councillor Mike Drever, said: “This draft development brief builds on planning and design principles established in the Three Villages Masterplans.

“Some initial consultation has already been undertaken with the occupants of properties neighbouring the sites – this formal consultation period now provides further opportunities for people to view proposals and provide feedback.”

The draft brief will be available at www.orkney.gov.uk from July 8.
