The Orkney based Coastguard emergency tug has been called out as a precautionary measure this morning to a position north-west of Foula following a ship reporting engine problems.

Shetland Coastguard explained that a cargo ship, named Industrial Kennedy, which is carrying a cargo of steel pipes to Norway, has blown a turbo-charger while in a position between Faroe and Shetland.

While there is no immediate danger, the tug has been tasked to the area as a precaution, due to the oil installations in the wider area, should the vessel drift.
