Firth all set for Gala Weekend

This evening marks the start of the 2013 Firth Community Association Gala Weekend.

Events kick off with the raft race at 6.45pm, from below Firth School, to the slipway.

Saturday will feature music from the Orkney Accordion and Fiddle Club, with sports beginning at 2pm.
On Saturday evening, the fancy dress parade will leave the Pomona at 7.30pm and make its way to the community centre — led by the Kirkwall City Pipe Band.

The day will end with a dance to The Condition.

On Sunday, the Parish Team Rounders competition begins at the hall at 2.30pm.
