It was a repeat of last year’s result in the junior inter-county football fixture, with Orkney and Shetland drawing 1-1.
Shetland took a second half lead through Iain Goodlad, before Steven Skea equalised for Orkney.
The match ended in controversial circumstances, when after playing out the draw, the Orkney management team believed that the game was to be decided on penalty kicks while the Shetland contingent believed it was to end as a draw. After deliberation between officials, it was decided that the match would end as a draw.
It means that Orkney retain their lead in the overall points tally, by 147 points to 121.
Hockey kicks off the junior inter-county action tomorrow, before the swimming event rounds off the 2013 tournament.
