Hewan steer is Shapinsay cattle champion

Champion in the cattle section at today’s Shapinsay show was a Limousin steer shown by R. & J. Johnston, of Hewan.

The March 2010 born animal was sired by Ashmare Commander, a bull bought from the, now defunct, Perth bull sales.

Reserve champion was a Limousin cross steer calf shown by T. & J. Leslie of Quoymorhouse.

Leading the way in the sheep section was a three shear, pure bred Texel ram shown by P & M Miller, Haquoy.
