Intercounty netball at Picky

Orkney’s Inter-county netball players are gearing up for this weekend’s big clash against northern rivals Shetland.

The “auld enemy” will be taking on Orkney’s A and B teams at the Pickaquoy Centre today, Saturday.

The A team was unfortunate to lose by just two points — 45-43 — in Shetland last year, while the Orkney B team also lost by a tight margin — 36-32. But this year, the Orkney squads are hopeful of good performances and results in both matches.

The B match is set to take to the court first on Saturday, at 10am, before the two A sides do battle at noon.
