Kirkwall lifeboat stood by a grounded creel boat yesterday, after the vessel went ashore on the Rendall coastline.

The lifeboat with coxswain Dougie Bain and five more volunteer crew aboard headed to the scene at 2.45pm yesterday afternoon. The local creel boat Queline had gone aground on the shore with three crew onboard.

The lifeboat stood by the vessel, which then refloated on the rising tide. There was no damage, and no injuries.

The lifeboat escorted the Queline back to Kirkwall Pier, arriving at 8.20pm.
