Loganair cuts schedule to focus on Northern Isles improvement
Loganair has announced that it is taking “decisive action to stabilise and bring resilience to its core flying network” — with a renewed focus and commitment on services to and from the Northern Isles.
Luke Farajallah, the airline’s new CEO, has made a personal apology to customers who have been impacted by the “unacceptable” levels of disruption over the last 18 months.
Under the changes, flights to and from Aberdeen to Teesside, and Newcastle, and between Glasgow and Southampton will be cut from the flying schedule.
Several other routes will see minor adjustments to frequency, in varying stages, until the end of the summer schedule.
Loganair said the changes will stabilise the daily flying programme, reduce the number of flights delayed and cancelled, and see less disruption for the Loganair crews and customers.
Mr Farajallah said: “This decision is one that has been made for the greater good of the vast majority of customers who must be able to book and fly with confidence, especially from some of the most remote parts of the UK.”
