Music festival concludes with Kirkwall concert
After four days of workshops, participants in the 2012 Orkney Schools Music Festival will gather in Kirkwall tonight for a concert showcasing the range of music-making heard during the week.
Funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative, the festival is organised by OIC’s instrumental service. Choirs, string ensembles and bands have been taking part as well as a host of individual performers playing a range of instruments from banjos to euphoniums.
Admission to the concert, at the King Street Halls at 7.30pm, is free, and the organisers hope that people will come along to enjoy the music-making and support the young musicians.
