North Ronaldsay nurse in running for national award

A local nurse practitioner will find out this week whether she has won a prestigious national award.

Bernie Holbrook, advanced nurse practitioner based at Linklet House in North Ronaldsay, has been shortlisted for Nurse of the Year in General Practice and Primary Care. The UK-wide award recognises the work done by the finalists in improving access to care for patients.

The awards are designed to highlight the hard work and innovation carried out every day in surgeries up and down the UK.

Hundreds of healthcare professionals will come together to pay tribute to the individuals and teams at the annual awards ceremony which is being held in London on Wednesday, November 27.
