Orkney records 28 new COVID cases in daily figures

A total of 28 new cases of COVID-19 have been attributed to Orkney during the past 24 hours, according to figures published by the Scottish Government.

This brings the total number of cases recorded for Orkney since the pandemic began to 793.

Orkney remains at the top of the table in data ranking infection rates per head of population in Scotland.

NHS Orkney is continuing to encourage everyone in the community age over 12 years to undertake twice-weekly lateral flow testing. The health authority is also urging folk to be mindful of hand and respiratory hygiene, and to stick to the guidelines when it comes to PCR testing and self-isolation.

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms or receive a positive lateral flow result, you must immediately self-isolate and book a PCR test. You can do this by phoning the COVID Assessment Centre on 01856 888211.
